I don't know if you still used to be able to wield a gun at that point, but I thought it'd be funny to take a pop at the brat. When you have the three standard choices you can also turn around and look at the Star Child. Here is what Eurogamer's Tom Phillips had to say about the "Refusal ending" followed by his video:

Heck, even get comfy and watch the video below. However, if you wish to continue, you may do so.

Just in case I'll put it in big bold letters so you have no excuses and do not put the blame on me. If you wish not to continue, do not say you were not warned. I am warning you now, there are definite spoilers, as the ending is point-blank detailed. Eurogamer has provided details on this alternate ending. A fourth ending has been added to the game in the Extended Cut DLC.

You're a plant zombie now.BioWare refuses to let Mass Effect 3 end as it did. Instead of metamorphosing into a cuddly plant-sprite, the poor spaceman will find himself twisted into a creepy alien-Olimar hybrid. Unfortunately, Olimar's biology doesn't quite adapt to his new form. But instead of welcoming him back with open arms, the critters will carry his lifeless body into an Onion-a Pikmin nest-and transform him into one of them. Awaiting him, of course, are the Pikmin he's befriended along his journey. only to crash right back onto the planet's surface. In an attempt to escape the strange planet upon which he's been stranded, his ship will jettison into the sky. If Captain Olimar, The game's protagonist, doesn't manage to collect the necessary parts to fix his rocket and return home, the intergalactic traveler will buckle under pressure. While we're on the subject of games with endings that don't match their genre, Nintendo's cutesy Pikmin offers an alternate ending straight off the pages of a Resident Evil script.
